James G Matlock is an American anthropologist and leading reincarnation researcher. He has adopted a comprehensive, multicultural and interdisciplinary approach to reincarnation studies, and has advanced a theory on how it happens, the ‘processual soul theory’.
He received a B.A. in English from Emory University and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Southern Illinois. He worked at the American Society for Psychical Research in New York City and at the Rhine Research Center in Durham, North Carolina. He is presently a Research Fellow at the Parapsychology Foundation.
Mr. Matlock has published many papers and two books: I Saw A Light and Came Here (regarding children’s past life memories) and Signs of Reincarnation, which is the first comprehensive look at the belief in reincarnation and the evidence for past lives from historical records, anthropological studies, and contemporary research. He teaches a 15-week online seminar course on reincarnation research and theory which is also called Signs of Reincarnation.
